The Torneo Argentino A (Argentine A Tournament) is one of two leagues at the third level of Argentina. It is restricted to teams from the interior of the country, ie not from greater Buenos Aires. The teams are divided into three groups of 8, 8 and 9. The first round is a group stage of 32 games total. The top 2 teams from each group plus the 2 best 3rd place teams advance to the second round. The 8 teams in the second round are divided into groups of 4 who play a total of 6 games. The two group winners play a 2 game series for the championship and promotion to the Primera B Nacional. The 2 worst last-placed teams are relegated to Torneo Argentino B. The best last-placed team and the worst next-to-last team go into playoffs with 2 teams from the Torneo Argentino B. The season runs from August to June.
