Superettan translates into English as "The super one", in other words the Super First Division. Each of the 16 clubs plays each other twice (home and away) for a total of 30 games. The Allsvenskan is being expanded to 16 clubs for 2008, which means 3 teams are promoted in 2007 and only one will be relegated. The bottom two clubs are relegated while 2 teams will be coming up from each third-tier Division 1 group to make 16 clubs for 2008. The season runs from April to November.
