The 16 teams play each other two times (home and away) for a total of 30 games. The bottom 2 clubs are automatically relegated. The 14th team goes into a promotion/relegation playoff with the 14th team from the Third Division A and 12 teams from the fourth level. The champion is automatically promoted. The season is also divided into three stages of 10 games each. The winners of each stage go into a promotion/relegation playoff with three teams from the Third Division A as well as the 16th team from the Second Division. The six Third Division teams play a home and away quarterfinal, then the three winners enter the semifinals along with the 16th team from the Second Division. The eventual winner of this tournament will play in the Second Divison the following season while the rest will play in the Third Division. The season runs from July to May with a one month winter break.
