Description:
Formed by members of Veracruz Sporting Club and España de Veracruz. The club went bankrupt in 1953 and was reformed in 1961. The club disappeared again in 1984 when the franchise was sold to Yucatán. Local businessmen purchased the franchise of Potros Neza in 1989 and the club returned for a third time. Red Sharks nickname owes to Veracruz's location on the Gulf of Mexico. The stadium is named after a famous former player.
