Official Website: ventforet.co.jp Ventforet means 'wind forest' in French. Sort of. The name comes from a phrase that the warlord Takeda Shingen, who was based in Kofu, used on his flag. The phrase, very loosely translated, is "plague wind, creeping forest, sweeping fire, immovable mountain" and is often shortened to just the characters for wind, forest, fire and mountain. The phrase has been used for the title of a novel and movie about the warlord. Unlike many clubs who have a single main sponsor, they are sponsored by a group of 200 smaller companies in the Yamanashi Prefecture area.
