Valahorum comes from "Vlach" or "Valach" which is an obsolete mediaeval name used to describe ethnic Romanians, stretching from the Pindus mountains of Greece up to the Carpathians in Romania proper.
The term "Vlach" is similar somehow to the name "Albion" from the name of the English club West Bromwich Albion denoting a romantic-mythical link with the past.

Thanks a lot Werner. Would you say the team is normally just called Unirea Urziceni or Unirea Valahorum Urziceni? Or both interchangeably?

Either way, interesting explanation of the name.
