Official Website: udinese.it Originally formed as part of the Società Udinese di Ginnastica e Scherma (Udinese Society of Gymnastics and Fencing). Won an unofficial national championship in 1896. While football was indeed a part of the club from the beginning activity was sporadic until approximately 1911. Udine is the principal city of the Friuli region of northeastern Italy, for which the stadium is named. The nickname Udin is the city's pronunciation in the Friulian dialect. The Zebrette nickname refers to the black and white uniforms. The black and white colors are the colors of the city of Udine, whose emblem is also incorporated into that of the club.
