Official Website: fc-terek.ru Terek Grozny is based in Grozny, the capital of the Chechnya region of southern Russia. It takes its name from the Terek River which flows through Chechnya and other parts of the Caucausus. It was founded as Dinamo (revealing its police connections) then changed its name to Neftyanik (Oiler), symbolizing its transfer to an oil industry group. The club adopted its current name of Terek Grozny in 1958 and has used it ever since, though there was a several years hiatus during the Chechen Wars that the club was not playing competitively. The colors of red, white and green are those of the Chechen flag. Their 2004 Russian Cup title was achieved when they were in the second-tier Russian First Division, the only time this has happened. They played for a number of years at the Central Stadium in Pyatigorsk but have moved back to Grozny since their promotion to the 2008 Russian Premier League. Trophy Room:
