Founded on April 1, 1900 by students of Saint-Servais College School. Named after a popular French club of the era, Standard de Paris. Royal is an honorary title given by the Belgian royal family to every club in Belgium after twenty-five years of existence. Merged with RFC Seraing in 1996. The stadium is typically called Sclessin, after the town in which it is located. It is officially named for a former club president, who served in that role for 22 years. Rouche is the local (Liégeois) pronunciation of the French rouge (red). Reached the European Cup Winners Cup final in 1982, their best achievement in Europe to date. Matricule #16.
