The first professional team in France. The 'Lionceaux' is a reference to the club's logo, which itself is a reference to Peugeot, whose logo is - wait for it - a lion. In 1930, Sochaux merged with l'A.S. Montbéliard. Have spent the most seasons in the top division of any French club - 60 as of 2007-08.
