Formed as a merger of Aspida and Orfeas. The club was purchased by the Czech automaker Skoda in 1992, and renamed Skoda Xanthi. Club's original colors were red and white, but have been changed to the Skoda colors of green and white. The stadium is located in Pigadia, a suburb of Xanthi. Previous stadiums - Xanthi Stadium (-2004).
