Official Website: asroma.it Roma were formed on July 22, 1927 by the merger of Alba-Audace, Roman and Fortitudo (who themselves had just absorbed Pro Roma). The Fascist government of the time encouraged the creation of one club for each major city within the center and south of the country in an effort to bring more balance to northern-dominated Italian football. Roma’s emblem (the she-wolf and her twins) is the symbol of Rome. The Lupi nickname is a reference to this. The colors red and gold symbolize imperial dignity and the Christian God respectively. They are taken from the banner of Campidoglio, one of the seven hills of Rome and a promiment place in the psychology of the Roman Empire. The derby with Lazio (il Derby della Capitale) is probably the fiercest in Italian soccer. Roma supporters are traditionally from the south and center of the city. The two clubs share the city's Stadio Olimpico, built for the 1960 Olympics. Previous stadiums - Motovelodromo Appio (1927), Testaccio (1927-40), and Flaminio (1940-1952). Trophy Room:
