Official Website: realvalladolid.es Real Valladolid Deportivo were formed on June 20, 1928 by the merger of Real Unión Deportiva and Club Deportivo Español. The nickname Pucela is also the nickname of the city of Valladolid. Pucela was the Roman name for the city. Blanquivioletas and Albivioletas both mean The White and Violet. Blanco and Albo are both ways of saying white in Spanish.The club's emblem incorporates a variety of themes: the club's violet and white colors, the crown symbolizing royal patronage, the red and gold coat of arms of the city of Valladolid and the Royal Cross of St Ferdinand, also part of the city's coat of arms. Previous Stadiums: Sociedad Tuarina (1928-40), Antiguo Estadio Municipal José Zorrilla (1940-82). The old stadium was known simply as Estadio Municipal until 1951 when it was officially renamed. It was located along the Paseo Zorrilla and also given that name in honor of José Zorrilla, a 19th century author and poet from Valladolid. Although the new stadium is located on the western outskirts of the city and not on the Paseo Zorrilla it has retained the same name.
