Formed on November 27, 1887 by the Presbyterian minister J.T. Stevenson, Quilmes are the oldest football club in Argentina. Quilmes is a district of Buenos Aires. It also happens to be a brand of Argentinian beer and an Indian tribe native to Argentina. The stadium is named the Centenario as the initiative to build it was begun in 1987, the club's centenary year.
