Founded on November 17, 1920 as a merger of Sportiva and New Club. 'Osasuna' is a toast to good health in the Basque language. Pamplona is the capital of the Navarra region of Spain which, though not part of the autonomous Basque Country, has a large Basque population. Reached the Copa del Rey final in 2005. Previous stadiums - Campo de San Juan (1922-67). The stadium is sponsored by the Government of Navarra and "Reyno de Navarra" is the official tourist slogan of the region. It was previously known as El Sadar, named for a river which runs through the city and near the stadium.
