Multisport club founded in 1904, football was added in 1908. In 1924, merged with Gallia Football Athlétic Club de Nice. The red and black colors were those of Gallia. 'Eagles' is a reference to the emblem of the city of Nice. Côte d'Azur (Blue Coast) is the French region in which Nice is located. Twice reached the European Cup quarterfinals, in 1957 and 1960.
