Official Website: nob.com.ar Founded on November 3, 1903. Isaac Newell was an English professor in Rosario at the Colegio Mercantil e Internado Anglo Argentino in the late 19th century. The club was formed by ex-students of his, and named in his honor. Old Boys is an English phrase that would mean 'alumni' in America. The colors were chosen in tribute to the colors of the flags of Newell and his wife - red for Newell's England, and black for his wife's Germany. The 'lepers' nickname derives from an invitation the club once received (and accepted) to play a benefit match to help fight leprosy, an invitation that their arch-rivals Rosario Central rejected. The Coloso del Parque (Colisseum of the Park) nickname of the stadium is a reference to its location in Rosario's Independence Park. Trophy Room:
