Founded in 1923 by Lazar Kaganovich under the name Club of the October Revolution. Renamed to Kazanka (for the Moscow-kazanskaya railroad) in 1931 and then eventually to Lokomotiv in 1936. The club play in the north-east suburb of Cherkizovo in Moscow. Two-time European Cup Winners' Cup semifinalists - 1997-98 and 98-99.
