I don't know a specific reason for the name Los Angeles Galaxy, except possibly a reference to the "galaxy of stars" that reside in Hollywood. It's a stretch but it's all I have. The club's emblem includes a single star. Star = galaxy. The Los Angeles Galaxy are the current club of David Beckham as surely every person on the planet is by now aware of. The Home Depot Center is actually located in suburban Carson, CA. Previous stadiums: Rose Bowl (1996-2003).
