Official Website: itfc.co.uk Description: Originally called Ipswich AFC to distinguish itself from the existing rugby-playing Ipswich FC. The two clubs merged in 1888 and adopted the Ipswich Town FC. They became full-time football five years later. Ipwsich Town joined the Football League in 1938, after playing in the Southern Amateur Football League, the Eastern Counties League and the Southern League. Their matches with arch-rival Norwich City are called the East Anglian Derby. The Blues won the Football League in their debut First Division season. The club's emblem includes a Suffolk punch (typical horse of Suffolk) and the turrets of Wolsey Gate (an important historical building in Ipswich). The stadium is located on Portman Road in the city of Ipswich. Previous Stadiums: Broom Hill, Brook's Hall.
