Description: The Terriers nickname was adopted in the 1970s, a reference to the Yorkshire terrier, Yorkshire being the county in which Huddersfield is located. The club's emblem includes the two white roses of Yorkshire, Huddersfield castle and the ubiquitous terrier towering above everything else. Huddersfield were the first English club to win three consecutive league titles. The Galpharm Stadium was known as the McAlpine Stadium until 2004. McAlpine were the main contractor in the construction and declined to renew their sponsorship. Galpharm is a healthcare company.
