Although the current club has only existed since 1988, they have kept the matricule of Winterslag which goes back to 1923. Now considered one of the big four clubs of Belgium, along with Anderlecht, Club Brugge and Standard. Winsterslag: FC Winterslag (1923-58), KFC Winterslag (1958-88).
