Description: The club is one of the ten original MLS teams, launched under the Dallas Burn moniker. In 2005 the club completed construction of their own stadium and decided to go for a general re-branding – new uniforms, new emblem and a new name – FC Dallas. The emblem includes a longhorn (a breed of cattle very common in Texas), the club's foundation date (1996) and the club’s colors which, not coincidentally, are the colors of the Texas flag. FC Dallas are owned by the Hunt Sports Group, now run by the descendants of oilman Lamar Hunt, a longtime supporter of the game in the US. The Hoops nickname references the horizontal "hoops" of their shirts. Their rivalry with the Chicago Fire dates back to an epic playoff series between the two clubs in the 1999 season. Pizza Hurt Park is actually located in Frisco, a suburb north of Dallas. Previous Stadiums: Cotton Bowl (1996-2002), Dragon Stadium (2003), Cotton Bowl (2004-05).
