Formed from a merger of Liberi e Forti, Gimnasium and US Brescia. The club's emblem includes a lion (prominent in the coat of arms of the city of Brescia) in front of a blue background with the diagonal white line also featured on the club's jersey. The city is known as the Leonessa d'Italia - The Lioness of Italy. The stadium is named for Mario Rigamonti, one of the players in the Grande Torino who died in the 1949 Superga air crash. He was born in Brescia.
