There are few things I love more than a good soccer/football book. I can still remember a classic find back in high school, the Hamlyn World Encyclopedia of Football. How did this obscure British almanac find its way to a used book store in Houston, Texas in the 1980s? Truly, no idea. But it opened up a new world to me and I'm forever grateful. I try to do justice to some of the classics that I've read over the years as well as some of the current stuff that I'm working my way through. I'm a really big fan of books that explore a certain piece of the game's history or a region that I'm unfamilar with. I hope to shine a light on some of the real quality out there. |
